Spanish Gold Wood Mulch

How to use Spanish Gold Wood Mulch
How much to buy. Multiply the bed's length by its width in feet. Each 2 cu ft bag covers about 12 sq ft at 2 inches deep, or about 8 sq ft at 3 inches. A 10 x 12 ft bed (120 sq ft) takes 10 bags at 2 inches. A pallet of 70 bags covers about 840 sq ft at 2 inches.
Spreading it. Spread 2–3 inches over beds. Leave a couple of inches bare around small plants and about 1 ft around tree trunks; never pile it against trunks. Within 12 inches of the house, keep it under 2 inches. Skip strips along curbs, sidewalks and water's edges.
Upkeep. Mulch settles and breaks down. Add a thin layer when it drops below 2 inches; there is no need to remove the old mulch.
Good to know. Mulch holds moisture in the soil, cuts down weed germination and keeps roots cooler in summer heat.
