How much mulch do I need? One 2 cu ft bag covers about 12 square feet at 2 inches deep. Divide your bed’s square footage by 12. A pallet of 70 bags covers about 840 square feet at that depth.

How deep should mulch be? 2 to 3 inches, pulled back from stems and tree trunks.

How much does a bag of rubber mulch cover? About 10 to 12 square feet per 40 lb bag.

Rubber or wood mulch? Wood mulch breaks down and needs topping up; rubber does not decompose and rarely needs replacing unless scattered.
