How much does a pallet of sod cover? About 500 square feet.
How many pallets do I need? Multiply the length by the width of the area in feet, divide by 500 and round up. A 30 x 40 ft yard (1,200 sq ft) takes 3 pallets.
How many pieces do I need for a patch? Each piece covers about 2.7 square feet, so divide the patch area by 2.7. A 4 x 5 ft patch takes 8 pieces.
How soon should sod be laid? As soon as possible after delivery. Keep it in a cool, shady spot until then.
Can you deliver several pallets? Yes. Extra pallets to the same address add a small charge each, plus a refundable pallet deposit.
