Ming Aralia
Polyscias fruticosa

How to care for Ming Aralia
Light. It grows in shade but needs bright, indirect light. Outdoors, give it partial shade.
Water. Let the top 2 in of soil dry before watering. Wet soil causes root rot, and very dry conditions invite mites.
Soil and feeding. Any soil works if it drains well; it prefers slightly acidic soil. In pots, use a well-draining Potting Soil.
Size. Grows slowly to about 8 ft tall and 2–3 ft wide.
Problems to watch. Watch for aphids, scale, mealybugs and whiteflies; treat with Insecticidal Soap following the label. Nematodes can also attack the roots.
Good to know. It is rated for zones 11–12, so cold snaps can harm it. It likes medium to high humidity. It is listed as a problem for cats and dogs.
