Hollywood Juniper
Juniperus chinensis 'Torulosa'

How to care for Hollywood Juniper
Light. Needs full sun. Junipers need at least half a day of direct sun.
Water. Water regularly while it establishes. After that it is drought tolerant. It does not tolerate poorly drained soil.
Soil and feeding. It handles alkaline, poor and sandy soils, as long as they drain well.
Size. Grows slowly to 8 ft or more; mature plants can reach about 15 ft tall and 10 ft wide, in an irregular shape.
Problems to watch. Serious problems are rare. Mites and bagworms can feed on the foliage; root rot and bacterial blight show up in wet soil.
Good to know. Hollywood juniper tolerates heat and salt, so it works near the coast. Its irregular, twisting branches suit a specimen spot better than a hedge.
