Spanish Bayonet is one of the few Yuccas Native to Florida. They are extremely drought tolerant, require little to no maintenance and can be planted in areas with full sun to partial shade. They grow well in a variety of soils, but prefer sand the most as they are very salt tolerant. The most noticeable feature has to be their leaves that have needle like tips, so try to avoid areas where there would be pets and kids passing by. The tall stalk full of white sweet-smelling, bell shaped flowers are frequented by pollinators such as hummingbirds and butterflies. They are also the host plant to the Great Southern White, Cofaqui giant skipper, and Yucca giant skipper butterflies.
