One of the largest growing Florida Native Ferns. They have strong root systems as they are often found along ponds, lake, edges of streams and protect them from erosion. The underside of the fronds have a rusty brown color and leathery feel, hence the name. They are often used as specimen plants or for habitat restoration with the need of soils to be constantly wet/moist.
