    Can grow into a medium sized canopy tree, This Florida Native is often mistaken for Sweetbay Magnolia. They both have similar features such as leaf shape and size as well as both of them having large white and fragrant flowers. Planting near lakes, ponds or streams is ideal for this tree due to its need for high soil moisture and its sensitivity to dryness.
