Also known as Rainbow eucalyptus, Rainbow Gum is fast growing and is most loved for its beautiful multicolored bark. The new leaves are reddish, adding to the look of the tree.
How to care for Rainbow Gum
Light. Grows well in full sun or partial sun.
Water. It comes from rainforests and likes plenty of water. Water regularly, especially while it establishes and during the dry season.
Size. An evergreen tree that grows at a moderate rate to 50 ft or more. In its native rainforest it reaches 80–130 ft, so give it plenty of room.
Good to know. The bark peels in strips to show bright green new bark. It then darkens through blue, purple and orange to maroon, giving the multicolored trunk. It prefers a humid tropical climate and is grown from seed.
