Hedges

Hedge plants for South Florida, from tall privacy screens to knee-high borders and flowering hedges. We carry 59, priced from $8.99 to $349.95; many come in 3-gallon pots for $11.95 to $34.95.

Privacy hedges. Podocarpus (4–10 ft) is the classic Florida privacy hedge and grows in sun or shade. Simpson Stopper (12 ft) is a native alternative. Jatropha (8 ft) and Bougainvillea (8 ft and up) add color, and Bougainvillea’s thorns make a barrier.

Low hedges and borders. Dwarf Ixora, Serissa, Green Island Ficus, Ilex Schilling (each about 3 ft), Dwarf Clusia (2 ft) and Dwarf Firebush (3–5 ft) keep a neat edge along walks and beds.

Native hedges. Simpson Stopper, Cocoplum and Wild Coffee are Florida natives; Wild Coffee also grows in full shade.

Pick up at our Cooper City nursery, or we’ll deliver across Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties.
