How to care for Moringa

Light. Needs full sun.

Water. Water regularly while it settles in. After that it is drought tolerant and needs only moderate water.

Soil and feeding. It grows best in well-drained, fertile soil.

Size. Grows quickly to 20 ft or more, and can reach about 33 ft. It forms a crooked, open, umbrella-shaped tree with corky bark.

Pruning. It takes pruning very well. Regular cutting back keeps it in shape and encourages fresh regrowth. Pruned closely, it can be grown as a hedge or windbreak.

Good to know. It is deciduous but seldom drops all its leaves at once. Young green pods, called drumsticks, and the leaves are cooked and eaten. Cut stems ooze milky sap.
